I know I’ve said this before a few times. Use the crafty goodness you already have! But honestly…I’m not nagging! It’s just a big reminder to myself! I often grab the closest thing to me (er um, crafty stuff!) which is most often the newest shiny crafty goody kicking around. Now it’s not that the older stuff is bad and not necessarily out of date (no really…paper crimpers are coming back in style! LOL I often forget that they’re there (not paper crimpers, just stuff in general…although I do have a couple! ;) )
You know how the saying goes…Out of Sight, Out of Mind. (I should figure out if there’s a way of rotating crafty goodies!)
I don’t know what prompted me to look through that box…but I found this set of Cornish Heritage Farms Stamps, Joyeux Noel. Now here is the part where you may want my head…it is an older set where the new reincarnation of Cornish Heritage Farms is not carrying the set. :( You may be able to find it on eBay? Or find another set that would do the job nicely! (Tim Holtz’s Grunge Snowflake set would work great!) But no…really…your old stuff IS cool! Or maybe retro! LOL

Card measures 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
-stick on washi tape
-stamp snowflakes
-stamp sentiment with embossing ink
-sprinkle gold tinsel embossing powder (it makes everything ultra decadent!), then heat set
-if you so desire, add some rhinestones or metallic pearls

Now just imagine the same card but in red. Red washi tape with perhaps a poinsettia stamp?

This card wasn’t quite what I had planned exactly but not being able to find a stamp set fixed that. I think I need to put all my Christmas crafting stuff together! Although an overhaul of the room that holds my crafty goodness is in severe need of an organizing!
I know you’ve seen the embossing diffusers before (not sure? Check out EPCC 13) but there are just so many possibilities with them! :)

Easy Christmas Cards 57_Spike

Card Measures 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
Red Card stock 5 1/4 x 4
White Card stock 5 x 3 3/4
-emboss white card stock piece using embossing diffuser (if you’re unsure how to, check out EPCC13)
-stamp sentiment in the center
-quickly sprinkle sentiment with clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool
-add embellishments

It is sometimes hard for me to leave things alone! I was tempted to do something with the embossed poinsettias but told myself to back off…it’s supposed to be a clean and simple card after all! ;)
Although if you wanted to make the card not so simple…here are the things I could do…
-apply distress ink on the embossed poinsettias
-apply embossing ink via a brayer and add clear embossing powder or UTEE, then use it as an emboss resist by using either distress inks or stains or perfect pearls or water colour
-then…I’d use some yellow stickles or small yellow pears and add them to the poinsettia centers

You just may see a similar card in future! ;)
