Sympathy cards are tough and rough to make. I had made this card a little while ago for an acquaintance whose mother had passed. I hardly know her and I wouldn’t have made one for her but something just compelled me to do it. Autopilot took over and created this card.
I find simplicity works for sympathy cards. No bling, perhaps a flower and some ribbon. I’m drawn to Webster’s Pages for paper for this occasion. They’re just beautiful and really don’t need anything else, I hesitate to cover up the detail. Actually, they’re so pretty that I find it difficult to cut up in the first place. I was originally going to make this into a regular A2 card size but changed to to 5×7 to keep as much of the paper as possible. (I used a 6×6 paper pack)
I wanted to add a resin cabochon flower in the middle of the floral die cut but well…I don’t own any! I certainly want to add a few of those to my wish list.
Another simple touch is to clear heat emboss the sentiment which finishes the card.
