Liking the MFT Decorative Doily Die and celebrating Birthdays with Friends

Welcome to the next 5 days of Birthdays! I have had a some great posts burning a hole in my drafts folder and thought it would be great to share them with you in a small Birthday showcase!

This post had been sitting in my draft box for a while (beginning of May) and I was a little hesitant to publish it then because I forgot to take photos of the cards. Only to realize that I took a couple with my phone and posted it to instagram when I was in mid creativity!

The last Saturday in April, I was teaching a glitter class at Classic. We had a couple of surprises as it was Shirley’s Birthday on the Friday and Deana’s on the Sunday sooooo Saturday just after class was perfect to celebrate both!

I just love the bold bright colours of Bo Bunny’s Ambrosia which reminds me of Deana’s bright, bubbly personality and couldn’t resist using them on her card! Toss in a splash of alcohol inks to add some dimension with a Verve stamp and voila! It makes me smile!

For Shirley’s card, I had a little something different in mind. Shirley just loves gears and anything with gears. Naturally I grabbed the Cuttlebug Gears embossing folder and copper shimmer card stock. The doily reminds me of a big gear and to cut it out of the copper card stock was perfect. I added a strip of Be Creative tape on top of some black ribbon and burnished Copper glitter over top because it’s tough to resist glitter. I love the font script of Verve sentiments, it adds the right tough of elegance that’s so Shirley.
