Wahoo! Another card for hire! I was asked a week ago if I could design 3 red and white Christmas cards. All unique and different. Well, here’s one of the three! I was inspired by the 12 days contest over at Paper Craft Planet by today’s theme, unfortunately I missed the deadline by an hour! The contest goes by the Eastern time zone and I’m in the pacific…*sigh*…drat! Nonetheless, I have completed one of the three and was very pleased with how it turned out!
Here’s how it all came together!
First I cut a circle in the front of the card with a circle Nestie, I set aside the cut out circle for later. Then stamped the snowflake trails with Versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder. I took a piece of linen White Daisy cardstock and painted it with Angel’s Wings Shimmerz then set it aside to dry. Once dry, I grabbed my trusty Martha Stewart Branch punch and punched to my hearts content. I had also punched through plain linen cardstock as well. With tweezers, I dipped a shimmered branch into some Aleene’s tacky glue and carefully placed it on the edge of the circle window. Alternating shimmered and non-shimmered branches, I glued them on in a counter-clockwise fashion.
With the cut out circle, I glued it to the inside of the card lined up with the circle window front. I then stamped the dove from the Elegant Christmas stamp set from The Cat’s Pajamas using the Martha Stewart glue pad onto some plain white cardstock. I quickly sprinkled some Regal Red Glitter from Glitter Ritz and set it aside to let the glue set. In the meantime, I added the mini-rhinestones to the front. Once the glitter was set, I brushed off the excess and ran it through a circle Nestie and mounted it on the red circle with a 3D pop dot! Easy as pie!
Here’s the the abridged version:
Paper – Bazzill, Textured White Daisy (CTMH)
Stamps – Elegant Christmas (The Cat’s Pajamas), Winter Trails (Inkadinkado)
Ink – None
Embellishments – Regal Red Glitter (Glitter Ritz), Branch Punch (Martha Stewart), Angel Wings (Shimmerz), Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Mini-Rhinestones
Well…it’s late Saturday night with Sunday on the horizon…I just plan to hang out at home and keep slugging at Christmas cards! No…it’s not that bad! Don’t you just love it when you can put your heart into them?
Thanks for dropping by and have a wonderful Sunday!
Love,
